A mixture of U23 and senior age group athletes have been selected for the International Wedau Regatta in Duisburg, many of which will double up over the two days to give them as much racing experience at this early stage of the season, as possible.

Peter Sheppard, GB Rowing Team Head Coach for the Olympic Pathway said: “This event offers our athletes the first international racing opportunity of the year, which will allow them to build their racing experience ahead of key events later in the summer.”

Commenting on the U19 European team selection, John Layng, U19 Team Manager at British Rowing said: “The four selected athletes have just recently returned from racing at the Munich International Junior Regatta, where they all impressed on the international stage. I’m looking forward to seeing how they build on that experience at the European Championships.”
