If you would like to attend a training course or just learn more about rowing, this section covers a broad range of rowing experience. From those taking their first steps into rowing, to experienced high performing coaches, to keeping yourself and others safe, there’s something for everyone.

What’s in it for me?

  • The opportunity to develop skills in your area of interest and enhance your rowing environment.
  • Competency based learning.
  • Information that is current and relevant.
  • Value for money.
  • Quality resources to support learning.
  • Advice and guidance from experts in areas covering safety and coaching.

I don’t have the time

The Online Learning section of the site is a great place to refresh your skills and knowledge in an accessible way.

It’s not just about formal training; our varied selection of workshops are a great way for people to develop their skills quickly, usually over a half or full day, with some weekend or evening options.

But people learn in different ways

For those people who prefer an independent approach, we are expanding our portfolio of online resources to enable you to learn when and where you choose.

British Rowing provides a blended delivery of learning using traditional face to face classroom training as well as a practical approach. As coaching and delivering rowing activity is practical, we want you to get as much hands-on experience as possible.

If I want some training, will it be at the right level?

We have courses to suit all levels of ability. Our training courses are also run nationwide. If there isn’t one in your area you can contact an Area Education & Training Manager who can direct you to your nearest course.

Workshops start at £27 with other courses priced according to the number of learning hours. Funding is available for our UKCC coaching qualifications, details of which can be found on our CSP Coaching Network page.

Our tutors are dedicated and passionate professionals who have undergone rigorous training to ensure a high standard of quality control.

Courses are all supported by top class materials given to participants during the course, and available online to download after the course.

What about after the training?

As well as high quality instruction we also provide complementary resources to help maintain your skills. During your course you may receive a workbook, a handout or a poster, giving you the opportunity to refresh your knowledge as and when you need.
