Obituary: Dr. T.A. (Tony) Fox

It is with great sadness that London Rowing Club report the death of Dr. T.A. (Tony) Fox, Honorary Member of London Rowing Club.
 
Tony joined LRC in 1950 and during his active rowing career achieved the following notable victories:

• The Diamond Sculls: 1951, 1953 (1953 as LRC)
• The Wingfield Sculls: 1951-53 (1952 and 1953 as LRC)
• The Scullers Head: 1955, 1956
• The Head of the River Race: 1950

      
Tony also represented Great Britain at the following events:
 

• The European Championships: M1x 1951 (silver medal), 1953, 1956 (predecessor of the World Championships) M2x 1954 (4th)
• The Olympic Games: M1x 1952 (4th), 1956 (9th)

      
Tony was elected an Honorary Member of the Club in 2002.

The Club extends to Tony’s family and friends its deepest sympathies at this time.
