New Welfare Officer Inductions

Following the success of the welfare officer briefings for existing welfare officers, we will be running periodic regional induction sessions for new welfare officers on an ongoing basis. The inductions will cover British Rowing specific content to assist you in your new role. We will be on the look out for suitable venues around the country, so if you think your club can help by hosting a session please do let us know

If you missed the briefings or are new welfare officer and would like to discuss anything with the team we really encourage you to get in touch via [email protected].

Reporting a Concern

All safeguarding concerns relating to a child or adult at risk must be reported to the Safeguarding & Integrity team at British Rowing. We urge you to do this at the earliest opportunity so that we can assess the concern and provide support and advice on appropriate next steps.

You can report a concern via the secure reporting form on the British Rowing website, or alternatively contact [email protected] for advice.

A reminder that it is British Rowing Coaching Week 16th – 24th September and that we will be running a recorded Q&A session. To submit a question or to sign up to a variety of other sessions across the week visit the Coaching Week page.

Supplements – ANARAC

Have you, or rowers you are supporting: “Assessed the Need, Assessed the Risk and Assessed the Consequences” before using supplements?

Make sure you and your rowers check any supplements you plan to take have been batch tested through Informed Sport, where you can type in the batch number and the website will indicate if the product has been screened for banned substances.

The new Informed Sport app makes searching for products even easier with its ability to scan product barcodes to search for it’s status. For more information about supplements and why you need to check them, read about it on our Clean Sport webpage.
