2019/20 Environment Agency boat licensing fee changes

The Environment Agency has announced a price increase on all boat registrations for the next two years. Reduced price registrations can be obtained from British Rowing

Clubs planning to keep or use their boats on Environment Agency (EA) waterways are required by the EA to purchase a licence. As a benefit of affiliation to British Rowing, clubs are able to purchase these at a reduced price to non-affiliated clubs, pleasure boats, etc.

Following a consultation process earlier this year, the EA has announced a price increase on all boat registrations for the next two years. For British Rowing clubs this will be a 7.7% increase for any boat registration valid from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020, followed by a further increase of 7.7% the following registration year.

Boat registrations can still be purchased at the current price but will only be valid until 31 March 2019.

How much do registrations cost?

The new standard fee for EA registrations is £41.10 pa. Reduced price registrations can be obtained from British Rowing.

The fees for annual registrations purchased from British Rowing are:

1 April 2019 – 31 March 2020
EA-based clubs:
Standard Registration £26.40
Junior Registration £8.10
Coaching or/and safety launches: £45.80
Non EA-based clubs:
Standard Registration £15.60
Junior Registration £7.00
Coaching or/and safety launches £45.80

These registrations can be renewed at any point within the registration year or up to three months in advance of the start of the registration period, i.e from 1 January. To get your discounted EA registration through British Rowing, go to the Club Management system to renew existing boats or register new ones.

Boat registrations can still be purchased at the current price, but will only be valid until 31 March 2019.
