Applications open for 2014 World Rowing Coastal Champs

Applications are now open for the 2014 World Rowing Coastal Championships, which this year will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Taking place on October 16-18, this year’s event promises to once again be one of the highlights of the coastal rowing calendar, with the world’s finest coming together to do battle on the Aegean.

“Ιt is with great pleasure that we host in Thessaloniki the 2014 World Rowing Coastal Championships, a major sporting event organized by the Hellenic Rowing Federation and the Municipality of Thessaloniki,” said Yiannis Boutaris, Mayor of Thessaloniki and President of the Organising Committee of the 2014 World Rowing Coastal Championships.

“Coastal rowing, which was included in the official categories of the World Rowing Federation during the last decade, has undergone rapid growth and has evolved in a very popular sport, both attractive and exciting for spectators. I am convinced that this event held in Thessaloniki will pave the way for other cities of Greece, and will make the sport more widely known”.

Information about the event and details of how to apply can be found at www.worldrowing.com/events/2014-world-rowing-coastal-championships/event-information. Discounts on accomodation are also available, as are boats to hire – find out more on the official event website: www.wrcc2014.com.
