Mersey RC Rows to London for Sport Relief

Members of Mersey RC rowed the distance between Liverpool and London on indoor rowing machines on Friday (March 21st), raising more than £3200 for Sport Relief 2014 so far.

Starting at 6pm on Friday, members of the clubs took it turns to row over 220miles in 24 hours – finishing at 6pm on Sunday.

The challenge took place in Liverpool’s L1 centre, with members of the public invited to have a go themselves – racing over 500m with free Learn to Row places going to the fastest male, female and under-16 rowers.

The club more than tripled its £1000 target for the challenge, with all of the money raised going directly to Sport Relief. To make a donation, visit http://my.sportrelief.com/sponsor/mersey-erg-heroes
