Frozen conditions have made access to the River Don difficult, forcing organisers to cancel Saturday’s racing in Doncaster.ADVERT The cold weather has also taken its toll on the River Thames, with the Henley Fours and Eights Head of the River both cancelled in the face of worsening conditions. ‘We have approximately 250 yards of ice an inch thick, with daytime temperatures forecast to reach no more than two degrees for the rest of the week, and temperatures at night plunging to minus six or below,’ Bedford Rowing Club said after cancelling the Henley Fours and Eights. ‘Tuesday night was minus nine here, and these temperature ranges are expected to continue until Sunday.’ The Thames-based event had been scheduled to take place this Satuday (11 February), but the inclement weather has forced organisers to cancel the event entirely.
