GB rowers racing in the Pairs Head of the River

 

World medallists from the GB Rowing Team are teaming up with their siblings for the Pairs Head of the River race on the River Thames on Saturday.

 

Katie Greves who won bronze in the women’s eight at the World Championships in Slovenia last month will be racing with her sister Caroline, 2010 World Champion Beth Rodford will be in a mixed double scull with her brother Ben and Ro Bradbury,  reserve for the women’s eight in Slovenia, is competing in the same event with her brother Robert.

The GB Rowing Team only returned to training for the start of the 2012 season less than a fortnight ago following their end of season break after the World Championships.

 

Bronze medallists in Slovenia Hester Goodsell and Rob Williams from the lightweight women’s double scull and the lightweight men’s four will also be pairing up and donning their club colours to take part in Saturday’s race alongside more than 400 other crews.

 

The 4,000m race downstream from Chiswick to Hammersmith Bridge features junior, senior and masters races in coulees pairs and double sculls and will start from 2:30pm.
