British Waterways seeks regional Chairs

British Waterways, which is officially transferring to an – as yet unnamed – New Waterways Charity (NWC) in April 2012, is seeking applications for five key voluntary positions across the UK.

The NWC will consist of 12 Waterways Partnerships and a Museums Partnership, and its Transition Appointments Committee is now seeking applications for the role of Chair of Waterways Partnerships in five regions across the UK: Manchester & Pennine, North Wales & Borders, South Wales & Severn, All Wales, and Kennet & Avon.

These new roles, which will exist within a new organisation, have been created to help develop the NWC over the next three years.

Successful applicants will act as lead ambassadors for the Waterways Partnerships, as well as developing strategies to encourage participation in regional waterways.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 11 October.
