The 2011 Runcorn Junior Regatta, sponsored by The Ball Cup and the generosity of The Henley Stewards’ CharitableTrust, had an international flavour this year, with Irish Club, Carlow in attendance as well as clubs from the North West.

This almost unique regatta, with its round robin format was held over two straight 300m courses on the River Weaver at Runcorn.
Junior rowers from J12 to J15, had a superb day of racing, basked in glorious sunshine, in single, double and quad sculls. All the juniors were guaranteed two races and most had up to three to five competing in each event.  Offering first-time racing experience to younger novice juniors, the popularity of this Regatta has grown over the years, with a total of 135 entries this year compared to its inaugural year in 2006 with 74 entries.

Ball Cup Medals were awarded for Gold, Silver and Bronze places, with all juniors receiving a 2011 Ball Cup tee-shirt at registration. The NFU Mutual sponsored Victor Ludorum for the most successful club was won by Warrington Rowing Club with 37 points, closely followed by Liverpool Victoria RC with 34 points. Kings School Chester BC achieved third place with 29 points.
