Mooring plans for Thames during Olympics

Image of Thames Boats

The Port of London Authority are expecting the Thames and inland waterways around London to be a magnet for people during the Olympic period, particularly for those wanting to be on the water.

With limited availability of visitor moorings, help is needed to get the message out that early booking for a mooring is essential. The Port of London Authority will be making space available in a limited number of places on the river for laying of temporary moorings in 2012 for which details will be available later in the year.

It is hoped that clubs on the Thames can help pass on the mooring message to other boaters and therefore help ensure minimal disruption to members during this period.
