Xchanging Sponsorship of Boat Race ends

Xchanging, the global business processor and principal sponsor of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race for the past seven years, has informed the organisers that it will not be extending its sponsorship commitment to the event when it reaches the end of its contract in 2012.

Commenting on its sponsorship of the Race, Executive Chairman Nigel Rich said: “Xchanging is proud it has been associated with this prestigious British sporting event for so many years. During this time the Race has grown in popularity and profile around the world, just as Xchanging has expanded its services and customers on a global scale.”

Paying tribute to the support that Xchanging has provided, David Searle, Executive Director of The Boat Race Company Ltd, said: “Being only the fourth sponsor of The Boat Race in its 182-year history, Xchanging has helped the organisers to maintain the high standards of presentation that we strive for as a world-class sporting event and project the Race to business communities around the world. We are extremely grateful to Xchanging for its continued support and wish the company well in the future.

“We are now focused on finding a new title sponsor for the event from 2013 and, given the success of the Race and its growing TV, radio and online audience around the world – reaching more than 200 countries – we are confident of securing another partner wanting to help us take the event forward,” he added.
