GB Rowing Team’s Bateman and Wells feature in World Olympic Dreams programme

Fans of rowing might want to tune into BBC 2 on Monday 14 February at 1pm to see the first screening of a programme about Iraqi rowers Haider Rashid and Hamza Hussein.

The World Olympic Dreams series, presented by Sir Matthew Pinsent, follows the rowers as they train on the Tigris – Sir Matthew even gets in a boat with them – and compares and contrasts their lives with a day in the life of Matthew Wells and Marcus Bateman.  Britain’s Red Express won world silver in the men’s double scull last year

There is an early preview of the film on the BBC wesbite, trailled off the home page for sport. The programme also airs on the BBC News Channel over the weekend of 25 February and on BBC World News on the weekend of 12 March.
