FISA appoints four GB representatives

FISA, the Federation for World Rowing, has recently announced new appointments to its International Commissions.  British Rowing is pleased to report that Ali Sanders will join the FISA Medical Commission, Gary Bain has been appointed to the Masters Commission and James Lindsay-Fynn takes his place on the Athletes Commission.

In addition, following the resignation of the Chairman of the Rowing for All Commission, Guin Batten has stepped into the role until September when elections will take place.

These appointments strengthen British Rowing’s position in world rowing and Di Ellis CBE, Chairman said ‘I am delighted to see the recognition given by FISA to our higly qualified volunteers in the appointment of Guin, Ali, Gary and James to these Commissions. I know they will bring a great deal of experience and expertise to their new roles.’

This good news for British Rowing came in the same week as the outstanding achievements of GB athletes had been recognised at FISA’s Gala Dinner held at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley.  Read GB Rowing’s report here.
