Olympic Rowing Gold Medallist Inspires Youth to Keep Active

Image of James CracknellOlympic rowing gold medallist and TV adventurer, James Cracknell, made a special visit on Wednesday 8th December, to Riders Infant School in Havant, to talk to children about the benefits of getting active and a healthy way of life.

James, one of Britain’s most successful athletes, attended the school’s morning assembly and talked to the children about why he stays fit and healthy. Later, the children took part in some fun, healthy activities and James presented them with certificates for their participation.

James said: “I’m passionate about talking to the children at Riders Infant School about why staying healthy and active is so important. As most people know, I was also involved in a cycling accident in the USA earlier this year, in which I sustained a head injury. I was very lucky and my fitness level has enabled me to recover more quickly.”

Amongst many things, James is a great ambassador for rowing with two Olympic Golds, six World Championship titles and successfully teaming up with TV adventurer Ben Fogle to race across The Atlantic.
