CASC Clubs benefit from 80% rate relief

The 2010 revaluation of Business Rates began earlier this year, which could result in increased costs for asset-owning clubs up and down the country. The Chancellor has however announced a further extension of the Small Business Rate Relief, which some clubs will be able to access. For more information on whether your club will be eligible for rate relief, contact your local valuation office.

What does this mean for sport and recreation?

In addition to the rate revaluation, a number of local authorities are now removing discretionary rate relief from sports clubs. Registering as a Community Amateur Sports Club will however ensure that clubs benefit from 80% mandatory rate relief. Visit www.cascinfo.co.uk for further information.
