Shyman and Shygirl Summer Series 2010 – Round 2 results

The results for Round 2 of the Shyman Mens and Shygirl Womens Summer Series 2010 are now available on the UKSRL website as well as photos from Saunton Sands.

Flaming June seems to be living up to it’s name, cloudless skies and
waves. The Barracudas (current European Champions) took the week off and went to
a wedding, leaving the door wide open for Porthtowan Blue Bali to take a lead in
the overall pointscore. The womens crew, the Bude Runners, are rowing exceptionally well and will
take some stopping!

Talking of stopping, backshoots and rollovers……….the next round is at
Watergate Bay, Newquay on July 10th, starting at 10:30am. This could turn into a test for the leading crews, with waves often upsetting
the best laid plans.

Forthcoming events

Two final quick reminders – July 15th is the closing date for entries to The European Surf Rowing
Championships in Holland on 28th August. The hosts are anticipating crews from France,
Belgium, and the UK as well as Holland. Entry forms can be downloaded from the site www.europeansurfrowers.com/europeanchamps

And don’t miss out on entering the UK Open Surfboat Championships which will be held on 24th July. Entry
forms are avavilable on website. So far there have been entries from the UK Champs:
Thames RC mens crews: Thames Titans, Thames Rangers, Thames Telemetry
as well as a French mens crew based in Paris and a French womens crew from Begle
near Bordeaux. All the ingredients for a great day of racing!
