Safety Advice; Clips on Heel Restraints

British Rowing has been advised that there is a problem with the fitting of clips on some Wintech heel restraints. 

This is under investigation at the moment but meanwhile the advice to those using the boats and to Regatta Control Commissions is to check the correct orientation of the clips.  The fitting of the clip is demonstrated in the photos in the pdf file below.  

A tug on the heel will confirm that the connection between the string and the fitting is sound.  If there is thought to be a problem with the connection then an additional restraint may be recommended.
