Success for Nottingham rowers at the Veteran Fours Head of the River

Mike Collier and Bill Payne from Nottingham win the 70+ age group

The high winds and heavy rain on Saturday led to the cancellation of the Fullers Head of the River Fours.
Over 500 crews were ready to race from Chiswick Bridge to Putney but with the wind whipping up the tideway, the event was cancelled on safety grounds.

However, on Sunday conditions were much improved for the veteran event.
Congratulations go to Mike Collier, Nottingham & Union RC and Bill Payne from Nottingham Rowing Club with friends from Henley and Reading who won the veteran G/H quadruple sculls for the 70+ age group. This follows their recent win in the Pairs Head.
