New equipment for Bradford ARC

Bradford Amateur Rowing Club has become the first rowing club in England to benefit from Sport England’s new Small Grants funding programme launched in April 2009.  Bradford ARC will receive a grant of £8,634 to purchase its first coxless quad sculling boat complete with 4 pairs of sculls.

Following the success of Project Oarsome at Bradford junior membership has grown year on year.  This is has been thanks to the hours put in by its dedicated junior coaching team, led by Hugh Scott.

The Club has invested in a double and single scull to meet the demands of a junior section as they continue on to J16 and beyond. The quad and sculls provided by the grant will be used to sustain participation amongst J16’s and older members in training and competition, and to promote excellence at regional level rowing competition.

Congratulations to all involved.
