Sad news: Andy de Quidt

It is with great sadness that the Association reports the loss of Andy de Quidt, aged 26, who died on Thursday 20th August.

Andy joined the ARA’s Team London as a Community Sports Coach in 2007.  He worked at Barn Elms Rowing Club and in East London with London Youth Rowing where he was able to do what he particularly enjoyed and was so good at – coaching and inspiring young rowers.

Andy leaves behind a great many friends and colleagues in rowing, all of whom were struck by his considerable courage and calmness in the face of his illness.  He will be sadly missed by us all.

The funeral is to be held at St. Paul’s Church, Queen’s Road, Kingston-upon-Thames, KT2 7SF, at 3.00 pm on Thursday 3rd September.  No flowers but donations to www.worldatplay.org.uk

Our sincere condolences to Andy’s family and friends.
