Dame Alice Harpur School tackle the Boston Marathon

On Sunday 20th September 18 girls from Dame Alice Harpur School took part in the Lincoln to Boston Marathon. This is a gruelling 31 mile row and can take between 4 to 5 hours to complete.

All the girls must be congratulated on their efforts, and a very well done to Kate Parrish and Emma Harris who finished in 4 hours and 3 minutes and set a new record in their event by an amazing 20 mins!!

All the girls rowed for over 4 hours and towards the end a few tears were shed but the teams pulled together and were soon smiling, happy to have finished the course and delighted to have raised money via sponsorship on behalf of ‘Help for Heroes’, their chosen charity this year.

The girls who competed were, Kate Parrish, Emma Harris, Nina Clifton, Clara Rawlings, Amy Walsh, Louise Gay, Kate Lamb, Eleanor Simms, Charlotte Levitt, Lucy Charatan, Lydia Gledhill, Tori Swann, Georgina Appleton, Fiona Jeffery-Sinclair, Anna Jefferies, Chloe Pinn, Chloe Ginn and Sophie Britton.
