14th FISA Youth Coaches Conference 2009, Naples
On 15th – 18th October 2009 the 14th FISA Youth Coaches Conference will be held in Naples, Italy.
The conference is designed for rowing coaches who want to acquire knowledge and experience about materials, new technologies and boat construction of modern rowing. At the end of this meeting the participants should be able to evaluate the technical differences between all kinds of boat and choose the best one for each crew.
Some of the workshop topics covered include:
- Stroke analysis: Drive, importance of the balance, deformation effects on the efficiency, how athletes’ weight and weight of the boat influence performance
- Delamination repair: Surface preparation, resin inserting, plastering, surface sanding, final painting
- Rowing riggers overview: Comparison of all the available riggers, performances of each type of rigger
Question and answer sessions will be held in the the presence of the engineers who design the rowing boats to clarify any queries.
