UWE and Bristol Varsity Boat Race 2009

Bristol’s harbour will be lined with spectators on Saturday 25th April to watch students from Bristol University and the University of West England (UWE) face each other on the water for the Varsity Boat Race.

The event is one of the highlights of the annual sporting challenges between the two universities and this year will see a sporting star return to compete in one of the five races. Peter Reed, an ex-UWE Boat Club president, Olympic and double World Champion in the men’s coxless four will row as part of the UWE alumni crew, made up of ex-students who return to the city to represent their university.
