ARA to be rebranded ‘British Rowing’

Association Council members have approved a change of name to ‘British Rowing’ in principle at their quarterly meeting on Saturday 7 February.

The motion was approved by a unanimous vote from members present.  The necessary rule changes for the new name will be formally approved at an ARA Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in June.

The ARA is working closely with global pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca as part of a FTSE-British Olympic Association initiative.  The rebranding is the result of this on-going partnership initiative where British sport benefits from the expertise of large companies

In its mission to update and strengthen the ARA’s identity, AstraZeneca recruited leading brand building agency Brand (x). Council members received first sight of a new logo which will now be developed further for use in a variety of applications across the ARA from club, regional and international level. The final version of the logo will be launched at the ARA’s autumn national conference.
