Olympic parades celebrate biggest medal haul since 1908

Henley paid tribute to its own local Olympians, and Andy Triggs Hodge and Tom James from Molesey BC, at the weekend.

On a perfect Autumn morning supporters lined the river bank, balconies and the bridge as the four crews rowed past. They then took to the streets, flag-waving, and cheering as the open top bus with the rowers and their coaches passed along the route through the town.

At 11am on Thursday 16th October, it’s the turn of the City of London to celebrate the achievements of all the Olympic and Paralympic Heroes with a parade through the city to mark the country’s biggest medal haul in a century.

The parade starts at the Mansion House where the teams will be met by the Lord Mayor of London before setting out for Trafalgar Square.
