GB internationals line up for Fours Head

World Champions Peter Reed, Alex Partridge, Steve Williams and Andy Hodge, from Great Britain’s Camelot-sponsored men’s four, are all in action this weekend at the Fullers Fours Head in London as are world bronze medallists, from the Siemens-sponsored double scull, Matt Wells and Stephen Rowbotham.

They will be amongst 2483 athletes in 546 crews competing in 20 events in this popular event which takes place between Chiswick and Putney Bridges on the Thames – a distance of four and a quarter miles – on Saturday at 13.30.

Reed, Partridge and Williams team up with GB coxed four representative Marcus Bateman to compete in a coxed four.  This will put them into direct competition with GB international Kieran West, former Olympic gold medallist and part of GB’s 2006 Siemens-sponsored GB eight, who races for Cambridge University with German world champions Sebastian Schulte and Thorsten Englemann.
Andy Hodge, meanwhile, is part of a Molesey quadruple scull which includes GB internationals Simon Fieldhouse and Tom Solesbury with former lightweight James Stephenson.

The men’s quadruple scull includes two strong crews – one from Tideway Scullers and one from Leander. The former sees Mahe Drysdale, world champion single sculler from New Zealand, team up with talented GB sculler Alan Campbell.  Leander’s line up features world double scull bronze medallists Stephen Rowbotham and Matt Wells together with Colin Smith and Matt Langridge.
