British Rowing opens nominations for the role of chairman

Affiliated Members are encouraged to submit nominations for the role of chairman of British Rowing, with the election to be held in February

British Rowing is accepting nominations from Affiliated Members for the role of chairman.

Current chairman Annamarie Phelps‘ first four-year term of office comes to an end on 31 March 2017. The British Rowing constitution states that a chairman may serve for two terms of office and Phelps plans to stand for a second term in the February election alongside the other nominees.

The role of chairman sees the individual take a lead in developing our organisation’s aims and goals, as well as ensuring the British Rowing board is effective that the organisation is successful in the long-term.

A suitable candidate will have a proven track record of successful leadership, experience of chairing meetings and the ability to act as a spokesperson and figurehead of our organisation. Of course, relevant knowledge of the sport and rowing, including the clubs and regattas around the country, is a key attribute for the position.

Nominations are open from Affiliated Members, that is clubs or regattas who are affiliated to British Rowing, and must be made in writing by 23 January. Nominees must be proposed and seconded by Affiliated Members.
