Rowing arrives at the London 2012 Olympic Park

Rowing took place at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this week for the first time, with a free taster session led by London Youth Rowing.

The taster session took place from 10am to 7.30pm, and was the first of three being held this week opposite the Copper Box – home of handball, modern pentathlon fencing and goalball during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

There will be two more sessions this week – one held on Friday (5th September) and a joint rowing and canoeing taster session on Saturday (6th September).

The pontoon used for the sessions will be left in place for use by a local school, with coaches provided by London Youth Rowing and equipment by Explore Rowing.

If you’d like to be among the first to row on the Olympic Park’s iconic water, contact [email protected].
