Exeter hosts record-breaking Regatta

The weather was kind for the record number of competitors taking part in Saturday’s City of Exeter Regatta, in this the 150th anniversary year of Exeter Rowing Club.

Crowds lined both banks of Exeter’s historic quayside to watch over 160 races along the fast sprint course with crews racing three abreast from 10am until the final race just before 7pm.

The event has been growing in popularity over the last few years and has seen increasing strength and depth particularly in junior rowing.

The home club were delighted to keep hold of the Victor Ludorum as most successful club on their home water.
