Explore Rowing enters exciting new phase…
In a new Explore Rowing initiative, more people are being given the opportunity to try the sport of rowing in an effort to cater for the demand from different sections of the community.
As part of the new programme, British Rowing’s Participation Team will be delivering Explore Rowing courses at accredited clubs, helping clubs deal with demand and opening up rowing to new audiences. As Phil Pring, Explore Rowing Project Officer, explains: “Whether you’re retired and looking for a daytime activity, or a new mum wanting to mix fitness with socialising, rowing has something for everyone.”
These sessions are currently in operation across the country and will include on-the-water as well as land based sessions. To further support the growth of the sport, British Rowing is also providing free training for participants so that they can go on to lead sessions with their peers.
To take part in a rowing session near you simply contact your regional Area Participation Manager by visiting www.britishrowing.org/about-us/contact-us/staff.
Typical course fees are around £60 and include 6 coached sessions and will include Rowing Leader training. Thereafter you are free to row whenever it suits you best.
