Date announced for 2014 Great Tyne Row

Details for the 2014 Great Tyne Row have been released, with this year’s row set to take place on Saturday 20th of September.

Participating rowers will take on an ambitious 25km course from Newburn to Tynemouth, passing beneath Newcastle’s iconic bridges and finishing with a barbecue on the beach. Fancy dress is encouraged – though not required – and the organising committee hope to have a few surprises in store to make this the best year yet.

Entries are now open for mixed, women’s and open crews in coxed stable boats (including coastal boats, skiffs and gigs).

Whether your ambition is to race the other crews against the clock or to have fun enjoying the lovely River Tyne and complete a challenging course, the GTR has something for everyone and costs just £20 per seat when booked before 30th June 2014. Seats booked from 1st July 2014 will cost £30 each.
