Devon School Games

The Devon School Games were run as part of the South West Regional Indoor Championships, offering two potential titles for local schools in Devon who raced against schools travelling from over the borders from Cornwall as well as their Devonshire rivals.

A number of impressive scores were recorded throughout the day, including Harry Sprague – racing in the Year 7 Boys and representing Exmouth Community College – who covered 543m in two minutes (106% of Gold medal Standard).

Ivybridge Community College’s Travis Bramley, who raced in the Year 10 Boys’ event, covered 1496m in five minutes (104%GMT), and Alicia Parsons from Devonport School for Girls managed 1640m in six minutes (106%GMT) in the Year 11 Girls’ event.

Plymstock School, the lead Watersport Hub School, managed some great results on the day – Ehren Duke ending up 6th overall in the Year 7 boys event but finishing 2nd in the Devon School Games and taking home a silver medal.

Rebecca Butchart finishing 2nd overall, taking a silver medal for the South West Regional Indoor Champs as well as the Devon School Games. Emily Taylor finished 3rd in the Girls Year 9 event, and Lucy Chapman finished 4th in the girls Year 7 event – a successful day for Plymstock.
