Become a Para-Rowing Classifier

British Rowing’s National Classifier Training Workshop will take place on 26-27th October at the London Regatta Centre.

Classifiers enable rowers with disabilities to compete on a fair and equal basis, in accordance with the British Rowing classification system.

The workshop will provide an opportunity for physiotherapists and doctors with an interest in para-rowing to work as medical classifiers, and for coaches to work as technical classifiers. There is also the potential for the right individuals to train as a FISA international medical classifier.

These are voluntary roles, but British Rowing will contribute to the cost of training and pay expenses for conducting classifications – classifiers will be expected to classify a minimum of six athletes per year once trained.

Classifiers are still being sought in the following regions:

  • East – Medical (physiotherapist)
  • Devon/Cornwall – Medical (physiotherapist)
The closing date for applications is Friday 18th October.

For more information about the workshop, contact Simon Goodey on [email protected] or 07767684515.
