Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes School Games

The home of the Paralympics, Stoke Mandeville Stadium, was the venue for the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes School Games. The event took the form of an indoor rowing race for Year 9s, with four partnership areas taking part.

In an extremely competitive boys’ fields, the top four all achieved over 100% gold medal times – Ben Simon from Princes Risborough High School taking the title covering 1228 meters in the four minute race, making him the fastest Year 9 male from across the School Games events. Not to be outdone, Joe Wolfin also managed a great score of 1188 meters at 105% of the gold medal time, and currently ranked 2nd overall from all school games events nationally in Year 9.

In the girls’ event, the top five all finished within 20 metres of the overall winner Jodie Battram from Sir Henry Floyd Grammer. Jodie just managed to hold of the challenge from Katrina Short from Beaconsfield School by five metres, with a score of 993m (97% GMT). Third place was a joint result from Georgia Dean and Ffion Morris, both from Wycombe High School, who just pipped Becky Mohr from Dr Challoners High by two metres.
