Games Makers invited to free lunch at Stratford Regatta

Stratford upon Avon Boat Club has invited all London 2012 Games Makers and Torchbearers to a free lunch at its annual regatta on Saturday 15th June – all they have to do is wear their uniform and bring their accreditation.

Jo Wyles, Regatta Secretary, explains: “This is Stratford upon Avon Boat Club’s small way of saying ‘thank you’ to all the Games Makers and Torchbearers who made the 2012 Olympic Games such a magnificent success and contributed so much to sport in the UK.

“We were especially honoured to have two Games Makers and two Torchbearers in the 2012 Olympic Games,” adds Jen Clements, SUABC Club Captain. “Our own President, Felix Badcock, and Jennifer Smith, coach and umpire (now Mrs McClellan), were hard-working Games Makers and Camilla Hadland, club member and President Elect of Durham University Boat Club, and club member Peter Wyatt, were Torchbearers. It will be great to see the Games Makers and Torchbearers at the BDR Stratford Regatta on Saturday 15th June. We’ve also heard that James Roe, our own gold medal Paralympian, will be at the Regatta!”
