Boston Rowing Club is one of hundreds of clubs across the UK enjoying the nation’s unprecedented interest in rowing.

The Lincolnshire club’s recent adult rowing taster day proved so popular that two more taster sessions have already been arranged for September.

The oversubscribed taster day saw more than 20 rowing newcomers take to the water in a variety of sculling boats, with Boston RC members on hand to demonstrate proper rowing technique and offer a tour of the club’s facility.

Boston’s Explore Rowing Co-ordinator Nicola Housam explained that the interest in the club via phone, email and website hits has been phenomenal since the start of the London 2012 Games, with Boston RC member Sheli Scott adding:

“The response has been fantastic! We have had over 20 adults – male and female, aged 18 to over 60 years old trying out the sport today.

“Rowing has something for everyone – the fun and friendly atmosphere as well as some exercise thrown in of course. Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it today and left with a smile on their face.”

Extra taster sessions have now been arranged for Saturday 1st September (for Juniors aged 7-17) and Sunday 30th September (for adults).
