Sweden to host 2013 World Rowing Coastal Champs

The Swedish City of Helsingborg has won the right to host the 2013 World Rowing Coastal Championships – the first time the event has been held in the north of Europe.

Over 450 of the world’s finest coastal rowers will converge on Helsingborg’s Oresund – described as a four-kilometre wide gateway to the Baltic Sea – for the three-day contest starting on the 15th of July 2013.

Crews will race on and off Helsingborg’s picturesque beaches, battling challenging conditions to be crowned world coastal champions in races for single, double, and quadruple skulls.

The 2012 Oresund Coastal Rowing Race will serve as a test event on 28th July 2012, and potential competitors from around the world are invited to enter.
