Draw announced for 2012 Head of the River Race

The draw has been announced for the 2012 Head of the River Race, with over 400 crews set to compete on March 17th.

More than 3500 participants are expected to take part in the 85-year-old event, which has attracted entries from around the world to battle it out on the River Thames.

Reigning champions Leander I will be the first boat to take to the water, followed by Molesey I and a crew from the Czech Rowing Federation.

The first 10 boats will also include crews from Spain and Hungary, reflecting the worldwide appeal of the race – stage on the Championship Course between Mortlake and Putney.
