Are your first aid qualifications up to date?

Keeping your Emergency Life Support (ELS) skills up to date could be the difference between life and death in an emergency – keeping someone alive until professional help arrives.

The British Heart Foundation’s Heartstart initiative is the perfect way to refresh your ELS skills, and has been designed to follow Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Over 2.6 million people have been trained through Heartstart to date. Discover a course near you using the British Heart Foundation map search.

Anyone aged 10 and above can attend Heartstart training, learning the complete range of skills including:

  • Assessing an unconscious patient,
  • Performing CPR
  • Preventing choking,
  • Dealing with serious bleeding,
  • Assisting someone who may be having a heart attack.
