Chester University kicks off BUCS Indoor Rowing season

Over 250 rowers took part in the first round of the 2011-12 BUCS Indoor Rowing events, which was held at Chester University in the North West Region.

The event attracted student rowers from Chester, Bangor, Keele, John Moores, Lancaster, Liverpool, Salford, Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan Universities, with senior, beginner, and team events on offer.

Senior competitors contested two-kilometre races for BUCS points, while beginners competed on a virtual one-kilometre course.

The day then ended with three-kilometre relay events, and a fun 300-metre sprint.

The next stop on the BUCS Indoor Rowing tour is the University of East Anglia, on Saturday 26 November.
