Henley Town and Visitors’ Regatta look ahead to 2012

Henley Town and Visitors' Regatta

With less than a year to go until the start of London 2012, Henley Town and Visitors’ Regatta is planning a special 2012 event to tie in with the Olympic Games.

The 2012 Henley Town and Visitors’ Regatta is scheduled to take place on July 28th at Henley Reach – the same day as the London 2012 rowing heats get underway just a few miles away at Eton Dorney.

This will give those rowing fans lucky enough to have secured tickets for London 2012 a unique opportunity to witness the first Olympic rowing events of the Games in the morning, before making the short trip across London for Henley’s more traditional event in the afternoon.

The 2012 Henley Town and Visitors’ Regatta will also ensure that top quality rowing is still available to those who didn’t manage to secure Olympic tickets – at the home of rowing during the 1908 and 1948 Olympic Games.

Thirty trophies will be up for grabs at the 2012 Regatta, with including the prestigious Town Cup – once of the first two trophies competed for at the Henley Royal Regatta in 1839.
