In November 2010 Warrington Rowing Club partnered with the Department of Sport and Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University and are pleased with initial outcomes.

As part of the partnership, a number of third year students have completed a work experience placement with Warrington RC. Since the programme began the club has been able to work with four nutritionists and three strength and conditioning students. To date, nutritional projects have included the students delivering a lecture to the clubs’ juniors and parents, along with the completion and analysis of nutrition diaries.

Additionally, strength and conditioning students have examined the clubs current circuit and weight training sessions. Consequently the club will soon adopt a number of new systems and exercises with the hope of enhancing performance out on the water. Both parties are pleased with the work that has been done so far, however results during 2011 will be the real bench mark.
