Plenty of support and encouragement could be seen from spectators throughout the entire day. One stand out moment saw a competitor being supported and cheered all the way to the finish after trailing 350m behind her fellow competitors.

Relays at the end of the day, in teams of four, provided compelling viewing and some comical entertainment. The presentation of the medals rounded off an excellent day with the North West Indoor Rowing University Champions award going to Manchester.

Jon Hayes, from Chester University Boat Club, reported that many of the competitors were “already looking forward to next years event.”
