LGBT Sports Summit

Athletes from throughout the UK are being invited to join sporting icons such as Gareth Thomas and John Amaechi to celebrate the third annual LGBT Sports Summit in London on 2 November.

The home of English Rugby, Twickenham, is hosting this event which provides an open space to discuss issues facing gay athletes.

Former NBA star Amaechi and the current rugby league player Thomas will be joined by Dikeledi Sibanda, manager of the football team Chosen Few, who all intend to speak at the event.

Lecturer Louisa Jones from the University of Central Lancashire will be chairing the meeting alongside Sarah Williams, the equality and diversity manager of Rugby Football League and also Pride Sports.

There will be work shops throughout the venture, with the intention to promote gay participation in School Sports and Higher Education Sports Curriculum.

The LGBT Sports Summit is free to attend. If you would like more information or would like to register your attendance for the event, visit the Pride Sports website.
