The majority of the juniors were recruited with the assistance of PE Teacher Darren Palmer at Bideford College and have been through a comprehensive Dry and Wet Start training sessions at the Reds with the considerable help of a number of parents who have assisted the clubs coaches in getting the youngsters up to a standard which has enabled them to participate at Saturday’s event.

The event consisted of a number of elimination heats with the winners progressing through to the final and the other crews racing off in a series of reprecharges to secure a place in the main final. The four boat final was a closely fought affair with just 2 foot separating the leading crews as they crossed the finishing line.
