On 29th and 30th of August Ross Rowing Club hosted its annual regatta comprising the Junior/Masters event on Sunday and the main regatta on Bank Holiday Monday. The entire event was preceded by a very successful Dragon Boat racing competition which had over eight crews from regional rowing clubs and four local crews.

Over the regatta days the Club hosted nearly 50 clubs from as far apart as Lancaster, Cambridge and Totnes. With a race every two minutes for two days the planning, management and teamwork required is an fantastic achievement for the Ross Club. The great weather also attracted record crowds who enjoyed the high quality racing.

On the water the Club was also very successful with 18 wins over the 2 days. The Junior Academy squad was the most successful competing squad on Sunday with 10 wins.  Mens captain Ian Howell added “ The Club proves what extraordinary results can be achieved when we pull together. The event on and off the water has an enviable national standing and will continue to grow in stature and levels of support. Many thanks to all the members who contributed to making it such a success.”
