All round success for Nottingham Rowing Club
Now near the end of it’s fourth full season Nottingham
Rowing Club, an amalgamation of Nottingham Boat Club and Nottingham Britannia
Rowing Club, is fast approaching 100 wins, bookings for the Club are well up and
fourteen members have rowed internationally this season.
Athletes from 16 to senior level have been involved in
the J16 Anglo-French Match in Nantes France, the Coupe de la Jeunesse in
Hazelwinkel, Belgium, the Home Countries International in Cork Ireland, the
Commonwealth Rowing Championships in Ontario, Canada and the World U23
World Championships in Brest, Belarus.
“Things are already looking good for 2011”, said Club
President Keith Atkinson. “We have plenty of local talent from City and County schools and our
reputation is drawing in established rowers from other parts of the country. With twelve miles of river rowing on the Trent and the National Watersports Centre
nearby we clearly have the water. Our coaches are nationally recognised for
their expertise and professional approach, the Club is well run and with the winter programme starts soon, we can’t wait to get on
with it.’
