  • Torbay Regatta

"Torbay Royal Regatta had to be abandoned with ten of the 28 scheduled races on the programme remaining. Conditions were not ideal at the start of the regatta with lumpy seas, but the major problem was launching boats from Hollicombe Beach."

  • South Coast Championships

"Sea conditions were rough for the 53rd South Coast Championship Regatta at Sandgate, Folkestone, and just about rowable in the coastal coxed-fours provided for the racing. Broader and shorter, with higher gunnels, the coastal boats are more suitable for sea rowing than the standard river skiff used within the West of England ARA."

  • Exmouth Coastal Regatta

"Torquay and Teign Scullers crews both claimed victories at the 10th annual Exmouth Offshore Regatta. The South Devon clubs were joined by crews from the host club, Mayflower, Loughborough and Southampton to make up the largest entry list in the regatta’s 10-year history."

  • Plymstock SSP short-listed for Innovation Award

"Gail Ems, Olympic Badminton Silver Medalist, presented Rob Wright with a commendation at the School Sport Partnership Conference. This award was presented to the SSP for creating a clear pathway for young people to progress from Intra school to Inter school competition in rowing."
